A graduate of Franciscan University of Steubenville, Jerry’s professional background is in the business world, in the finance sector, who worked for Fortune 500 and 100 companies. Jerry began his decade-long discernment of the priestly vocation and religious orders while still working full-time. During those ten years, he stopped working and spent three years in a major seminary, studying philosophy and theology. Four years before seminary, Jerry lived off the grid as a hermit, with no money or material possessions, devoting his life to prayer, writing, meditation, and reflection. He rejoined the world slowly, starting in late summer/early fall of 2010.

Jerry currently calls Boardman, Ohio, home, where he is working on his next book. In addition to writing, he has returned to the world, working in the finance profession, hosting his own podcast, A Former Hermit & A Podcast!, as well as starting a life coaching practice.
